Panchporan (also spelled Panch Phoron) is a classic Bengali five-spice blend of whole seeds used to temper oils and create the distinctive, aromatic base of Bengali and Eastern Indian cooking. Manan Foods Panchporan is a perfectly balanced mix of five whole spices, ready to use straight from the pack.
Key Spices: Fenugreek (methi), nigella seeds (kalonji), cumin (jeera), black mustard (rai), and fennel (saunf) — a bold, aromatic combination that creates the signature flavour of Bengali dals, vegetables, and fish dishes.
How to Use: Heat mustard oil or ghee in a pan, add a teaspoon of Panchporan and let the seeds splutter and crackle. Add vegetables, dal, or fish and cook as usual. The tempering infuses the dish with a uniquely earthy, aromatic flavour.
